Doctrine of the Mean (Virtue Ethics)

(0)
A starter activity for A level Philosophy & Ethics students as part of the Virtue Ethics topic to help them explore their understanding of the Golden Mean. I would usually give them the activity sheet without the options first to test their vocabulary.

A level Buddhism workbook

This workbook was designed for my A level group who are studying Buddhism as part of following the Edexcel A level Religious Studies specification (Year 12). With no textbook to use, I wrote a series of questions for each topic that would cover the requirements of the specification and provide students with notes to revise from. It also encouraged independent learning. I would ask students to complete a number of questions prior to each lesson for discussion. There are blank sheets on which I would get my students to stick exam questions from the specimen papers.

Bad Business - introduction to Business Ethics

A description of a fictitious business called Everlasting Soul - a children’s clothing company. I have used this in Key Stage 3 RE lessons. Throughout the overview of the company are questionable practices that would contradict ethical theories and religious teachings. Students highlight the things that they think present a problem. It can also be used with GCSE Business Studies students as a starter on Business Ethics. Great paired activity. Generates good discussion and debate.
